Update from Wendi on 8/2/07:
After graduation I attended NMSU and graduated in 1997 with my degree in Education. I've taught Kindergarten and Special Education students (grades K-5) since then.
In 2002, God closed doors and opened different ones for me. I got a job teaching in California and moved there to be near my parents and other family.
I got married to a wonderful guy, Kevin Hogstedt, in 2005! Our story is quite interesting. It actually starts about 67 years ago when my grandparents met Kevin's grandparents. They became the bestest friends. And then years later our moms became best friends. We saw them about three times my whole life. We lived in New Mexico and they lived in California until my parents and I moved to California and reconnected at a family member's wedding. I went to stay with Kevin's mom when she was supposed to have knee surgery (that was cancelled) and she had Kevin take me around and do the touristy things. We really connected and a few months later we got engaged. A year later we had a beautiful outside wedding!
We were married about a year and decided we wanted to buy a house, but California is WAY to expensive for what you get. My sister and family are missionaries in Alaska, so we decided that would be a great place to move. We bought a house on half an acre and have really enjoyed living here. Alaska is a beautiful place!
I teach Special Ed. Resource, grades K-2, for the public schools and Kevin works for the Artic Resource Center working with handicapped people. We both love our jobs!
We love visitors, so anyone wanting to visit give us a ring! The summers are a wonderful
55-75 degrees and the winters range between 50 and -30, or there abouts. (smile) Really we only have a couple of days that it gets that cold (-30). Many things to see!
